During your initial visit, we may request to have a 3D image taken of your teeth. A 3D x-ray or image is called a CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography), and has revolutionized the way many orthodontic problems are diagnosed and treated.
For example, if a tooth has failed to erupt into your mouth when it should, it could potentially be impacted. The 3D image gives us an idea of the position of the tooth relative to the adjacent teeth. Knowing this information about a particular tooth or problem allows us to provide you with the best treatment options.
